tour update II

5. Münster>Osnabrück>Neubrandenburg

Its finally DAGGERS day. we get up late as usual, play PS3 at Pascal's for way too long and reach the place where we re meant to pick up the new van late. It's all good though. The Van is comfy and has a big trunk so all our gear fits in easily.
Daggers are waiting at the local Europecar station. Winter crashes down on us with tons of fresh snow. After a very emotional reunion that includes nudity we all jump in the van cause we we have quite a way to go.
being in a van with daggers is always fun, always dirty and it only takes about an hour or two until half of the passengers take off their clothes.

Arriving in Neubrandenburg was quite a sight. The AJZ is located on a little hill right in between the woods and next to a lake. huge trees surround the little cottage and all in all the place holds a nice atmosphere.
IMPORTANT: this was by far the best food i had at any show on this tour. we were served like kings and i had a hard time walking after finishing what felt like 184 plates plus the chocolatte stuff that was scattered all over the place.
The place has nice bunk beds right above the venue so we just chill there and listen to the bands play downstairs. we finish a bottle of becks alcohol free to fill it with beer to make Time's Up drummer Chris drunk but i stop half the way cause of feeling bad to play such a prank on him.
This also marks our last night with Time's Up which turned out to be new friends. They play their best set so far on this trip and we enjoy the time before our set starts.

Lots of Fog this night, kids moshing me off my feet during our own set and a stressed photographer that hates our smokeblower!

Dave and Thomas play a crazy set on the piano for everyone and get on everyones nerves for being wasted douchebags. perfect night!!!

6. Leipzig + New Years Eve Party

just a short drive to get to leipzig. Niclas the promoter of tonights show welcomes us with massive Fallafel Sandwiches that i will never forget in my entire life. i needed instruction on how to eat that monster.
The show turns out to be somewhat experimental. i play bass and dom sings. i suck hard, dom is doing just fine. all in all it was okay.
We get our shit together, collect tons of booze and move to Connewitzer Kreuz to watch people shoot their money up into the atmosphere. Tons of USK riot cops giving us nervous looks.
After freezing our asses off for a couple of hours we move to Conne Island to party til the roof comes off. We afford to pay for drinks collecting bottles and cups which makes sense since theres about 12.000 lying about everywhere. the barkeepers get pissed but we couldnt care less. I guess we drink about 50 drinks without paying just because of that. perfect!
we leave the club at around 11 in the morning and jump on and into any bush we can find cause it had snowed so much, hitting the floor just didnt hurt anymore. we get a little violent and fight each other on the way home. obstacles like cars or containers are proudly climbed upon and it ends with me emptying my stomach on some random benz.
since we get in last, thomas and i sleep right next to the door in the hallway and we can feel techno kids entering and leaving the place every now and then via our backs.
We slept like babys though :)

7. Dessau

we wake up at around 4 pm and ever since starting this tour this was hangover #1
The Beatclub in Dessau is a big place with a nice PA and a big stage. We meet labelmates DS and have a few beers before playing. The promotors prepared nice food and were extremely nice and welcoming.
I am having a hard time staying on my feet during the whole set. My nose starts bleeding as usual and i fight passing out on the last song. This marks Day 1 of my body fighting back.

We meet awesome locals and hang out a bit more. Everyone except for me gets mor PFEFFI and chill.
The dude with the pornoschnauz is THE MAN of the evening by far!

Here's a short clip of all the bands and some weird interviews of that night:

tour update I

7200km in 15 days. yes sir!

After way too many drinks(at the local club i work at) and way to little sleep TIMES UP picked us up at our rehearsal space at around 12ish. Upon seeing the van i was pretty sure this thing wouldnt go down the way we had planned it in the beginning. Though it sports 9 unbelievably comfortable seats, the trunk is just too small to fit a band's whole backline.
In the end my pessimism was just a bit too much.
we loaded the back with as much stuff as we could and used some security straps to not get knocked out when Chris(whos driving most of the time) is braking too hard.
our brand new fog-destroyer-canon and dave's 2x15 bass cab were too big though, so we just have them next to us which makes getting out of the van a tough but amusing challenge.

1. Forst
We arrive just in time with a little difficulty of finding the venue. Chris manages to get our van through a gap that just wasnt built for us to pass. dont know how he did it.
Its a nice little place that had just been renovated. Dark grey walls, just a little light and a lot of fog made this a pretty cool experience for myself as well. Personally, i think the show was a good starter and the afterparty was insane. "PFEFFI" easily became the drink of the night.
Dani & Dom discovered what can be done with a fire extinguisher. After almost everyone fell asleep they went into the kitchen and tried the extinguisher. When i entered the room(filled with 20 kids that were asleep) i had a sour taste in my throat. Once i noticed what was going on i opened all windows and doors to stop everyone from suffocating.(took a shitload of time to clean the place in the morning)
But first and foremost we got our debut record on VINYL from the beautiful people of APIL Records & Deafcult. It looks great, smells great(silksceen print), and hopefully sounds great :) we havent had the chance to put it on a record player.

2. Hamburg
"Rote Flora" is easily the coolest place i ve been to. huge hall, tons of graffiti and stickers all over the place. The people of "OUR TURN" prepared awesome food and some pretty tasty cake. Our fogging machine did a great job of making us disappear. Lots of people showed up and it felt good to play.
But we were even more keen on leaving for some sightseeing. We tried to check out the Kiez but some coppers sent us away cause we were heavily loaded with bottles of wine.
went straight to the harbour to hang out and check out the seaside. It started raining and was pretty cold so we headed to a small club called "PUDEL". Stayed there until 7am. Awesome evening.

3. Döbeln/Rosswein
we arrive late cause staying out late had its effect on us :)
the promoters are already pretty nervous. we load in our shit in 3min and the first band starts. after only 2 bands, we are told that we either play now or not at all. a few minutes later we re told that we could move the show to Rosswein.
We had 20min left so we just started off.
Our set was extremely chaotic that night. daves amp blew a fuse. i ripped dom's guitar cable, broke a microphone and halfway in our last song the electricity was cut and music started.
All of the kids that were at the show were told to come to Rosswein to see the rest of the bands.
We packed our stuff as fast as we could and headed over to JUZ Rosswein.

Upon arriving the place was packed, we kind of regretted not playing that place as well.
we hung out in the back, watched the other bands and tried to find more PFEFFI which turned out to be a hard task.
Dani managed to get a full bottle of cherry liquor on some crazy drinking bet.
We drove to AJZ Leisnig to sleep there, awesome place, weltraumlutz wifi and some pretty nice people.

4. Ibbenbüren
Making 9 people leave a place is a real tough one so we left Leisnig late.
The drive seemed like forever. my legs still feel kinda sore and we had just a few stops to get to Ibbenbüren in time. Food was already prepared and i was seriously starving.
I was interviewed which was both weird and nice at the same time.
We built up full stacks for the guitars cause we are equipment/look - geeks. For some reason the place had been really crowded at the beginning, but since we were the last band playing that night, lots of people had already left the place. supposedly people thought that the band right before us was the last to play.
we didnt care much and played as hard as we could. no fog this time :(

Right now, we re at Pascal's place(he plays in Ritual and has become a good friend since our last endeavours.)
I am going to bed pretty soon.
we have to get the new Van and DAGGERS tomorrow morning cause we ll continue our tour with the belgian barbars.

here are some impressions of the last shows:
